Item Description
This offering is for a Noritake Morimura condiment or jam serving bowl with spoon.
Hand painted with gold trim and lusterware luster iridescent glaze.
The bowl is about 4 1/2 inches diameter round and approx 2 inches tall. The matching spoon is about 5 inches long.
The set is in very good to excellent used condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs.
The bowl and spoon are marked Noritake with an M inside a wreath (for Morimura) as you can see in my pictures.
Mark: "M" for Morimura in a wreath, crowned by "NORITAKE" and below, "Hand painted" and "Made in Japan". This mark was registered in 1918 and seems to have come in to used in the early 1920's when it was used until around 1940, in combination with pattern names and number, and also some rows mentioning that a patent for the decoration was applied for. Tentative date; 1930's.
Hand painted Flowers are pink, purple orange with green leaves. the bottom of bowl is a lilac purple blue. Trimmed in Gold leaf.
